March Progress Update, Part 2

Chip 2We’re working on scheduling the final alpha test for the game, which means we will very quickly be moving into beta testing. Initially, we’ll be working as a closed beta, and looking to find some local gamers from all backgrounds that would be interested in being a part of some regular testing. If you or someone you know is interested, please let me know. Once we move out of closed beta and in to open beta, we’ll be looking for a LOT more people to get involved and make sure this game is as fun as I think it is. And I think it is a LOT of fun. I honestly haven’t had this much fun playing a tabletop game in a long time; I can tell you the games I’ve tried lately definitely were not this easy to play, yet had the same depth of skill, as what we’ve got going.

With our last alpha test, the goal is really to lock in the dice and the core mechanics, which means we’ll also be looking to place some dice orders in the coming weeks. I don’t know about you, but trying to find custom dice in the quantity we need, at a reasonable price, is really challenging. But hey, if this was easy, everyone would be doing it! So right now, we’ve got our prices way way down, but we’re going to be ordering thousands of dice. So uh… if anyone wants any custom d10’s, I might know a guy with a few extra to spare.

In additional news, we’re finally getting our first models printed! We had a momentary hiccup around the scale of the models, but now they are correct (and much larger!) and look amazing. We’ll be getting the first few hundred in April as part of our demo armies, and can’t wait to start showing them off both on the website and as we start hitting the convention circuit. They look amazing.

Lastly, I want to talk a little bit about the full scope of the game we’re playing. I won’t go in to too many details, but one of the core pieces of our game is our living story line that is driven by the results of tabletop game results. To make that all work, we’re building a really amazing, truly engaging online experience that will enable interested players to really take their Chronicles experience to the next level. This will be an add-on to the core game, but as players look to get more involved with a game during the time between live interactions, this new way to play will be really really cool. More on that to come.

Thanks for reading, things are really heating up, and I hope everyone can tell just how excited I am, and maybe share some of that excitement on their own!
